OLD LEGS PEDDLING SO YOUNG LEGS CAN WALK
This month, I would like to showcase a longtime Elk who is going the distance (literally) for Arizona Elks Major Projects.
89-year-old Vince Kopec has been a member of the Sierra Vista Elks Lodge for over 50 years and is embarking on a 427-mile bike race across Iowa to raise money for AEMP. Each morning, Vince wakes up and goes on a 2 hour bike ride after his morning coffee. Typically these morning rides are anywhere from 19-25 miles long. His passion for helping children is palpable and truly admirable.
Just 3 years ago, Vince participated in the “Bisbee 1000 The Great Stair Climb” while carrying his walker on his back. He finished stronger than most and raised nearly $3,000 for AEMP!
In true Elks fashion, Vince will be donating 100% of the the money he raises directly to AEMP. He exemplifies the true meaning of charitable giving and I am honored to have the privilege of assisting him in his efforts to raise money for the children of Arizona. I challenge each and every one of you and/or your lodges to help me, help Vince!
Hats off to Vince for being an inspiration to us all!
